Solar Hot Water System Rebates
You may be eligible for up to three separate rebates towards the purchase of your solar hot water system.
- STC (Small Scale Technology Certificates)
- Federal Government Rebate (Renewable Energy Bonus Scheme Solar Hot Water Rebate)
- QLD Government Solar Hot Water Rebate
Each rebate have their own set of guidelines and eligibly which we can help you unravel, but we do advise that you read the attached guidelines to ensure your eligibility.
Solar Photovoltaic (PV) System
One rebate is available in QLD for solar PVs
This provides a substantial financial saving towards your chosen system.
We provide you with all the rebate forms you will require on the day of installation with many of the details prefilled with product information. All you will need to do is fill in your personal details and mail in the envelope provided.
STC – Small-Scale technology Certificates
STCs are available for solar hot water systems and PV systems, they must be created within 12 months of your system being installed and you can assign your STCs to a registered Agent (such as a retailer or installer)
We can give you a financial benefit for the certificates, such as a discount off the invoice, in exchange for the right to create the certificates.

Right now, the Queensland Government is offering a Rebate to eligible households that replace their electric storage hot water system with a solar hot water system or heat pump.
You could be eligible for:
- $1000 Concessional Rebate (for pensioners and low income earners)
- OR $600 Standard Rebate
Federal Government Rebate
This rebate is available to help eligible home-owners, landlords or tenants to replace their electric storage hot water systems with solar or heat pump hot water systems.
Eligible households can claim a rebate of
- $1,000 for a solar hot water system or
- $600 for a heat pump hot water system.
